I am board certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine besides having an MBA degree with healthcare emphasis. Some notable achievements over the last 1 year since joining Allina Health as Medical Director of medicine specialties include setting up a system-focused organization structure for medical specialties with appointment of lead physicians for each specialty, fostering a shift in perspective from site specific to Allina system wide serving the needs of patients across the whole system and across the care continuum, several provider education initiatives including publishing a Clinical Guide for COVID-19 management, webinars on COVID testing, and COVID-19 vaccines, enhancing recruitment efforts for several specialties, playing a key role in setting up a cross-functional research team to successfully complete Johnson and Johnson COVID vaccine trial, serve as the co-chair for developing telehealth services, actively participating in developing strategies and interventions to promote population health management, and I serve on the Network Operations and Development committee of Allina Integrated Medical Network, an ACO of 3500 physicians aligned to achieve the triple aim of improving quality, consumer experience & reduce total cost of care. Launched monoclonal antibody therapy program for COVID patients.I have had 20+ years of experience dealing with the entire spectrum of Nephrology. I have been in leadership role throughout my career: •Established a community department of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Southwest Wisconsin region aligned with destination practice at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Developed a roadmap for integration of community practices with destination practice. Improving healthcare "value" for all stakeholders - standardization of care protocols, reducing waste, improving market share, improving patient experience. •As Medical Director, of Quality and Process Improvement for Mayo Clinic Dialysis System, I was responsible to ensure compliance with CMS regulatory conditions, oversee Quality incentive payment (QIP), help Dialysis Medical Directors, develop an Enterprise Quality dashboard, identify gaps in services and diffuse best practices. •Served 4 years as Medical Director for Patient Experience of Southwest Wisconsin region for Mayo Clinic Health System. I have coached and mentored several staff and physicians. I served as a faculty on the “Mayo Clinic Workshop on Effective Communication in Healthcare”. I am interested in providing "value" to our patients - improve quality, outcomes, experience in a cost-efficient manner.
