After taking a break between high school and college, I was eager to continue with my education. I made the decision to go into Education as a career due to the experiences that I encountered when my oldest child was diagnosed with ADHD and was treated very badly in Elementary School. I decided then to do all I could to make sure that the children in my world would not encounter the same type of treatment that he did. Being married to a military member also had an impact on which decisions I made to pursue my education. I earned my Associates of Arts degree from Alpena Community College just in time to move to a new location. Once the move to Delaware was made I earned my Bachelors of Science, Elementary Education degree from Delaware State University. It wasn't until I had the chance to work with Title 1 students that I could see the impact that technology has on student's ability to learn. At that point I decided to go back for my Master's Degree in Applied Technology from Wilmington University and have attended many additional trainings to enhance my knowledge in this area. Currently, I have started a new business, Enlightened Minds Learning Services, which offers private tutoring, small group instruction, study skills and test prep courses and ed tech consultation.
