I have worked in the Arts, Culture and Entertainment industry since 2001, starting out doing a Modern Apprenticeship that enabled me with the skills and confidence to not only gain a full-time position with my current employer (Royal Exchange Theatre) but also to be promoted to a newly created role - Press & Marketing Assistant. Within just 18 months I was then promoted again to another newly created role - Press & Marketing Officer - a position which I held for over 7 years before a department restructure meant I changed positions to become the company's first Marketing Officer for Digital & Systems. Following on from Covid and a company-wide restructure in 2020, I was made the CRM & Digital Systems Lead (later changed to CRM & Digital Marketing Manager). This management level role enables me not just to carry out strategy tasks and aims but to create them from the start as per the Business Plans and Goals. My long standing and loyal service to the Royal Exchange Theatre has given me incredible insight into the workings of one of countries leading producing venues. As well as being reliable and dependable, the ever changing nature of my job roles, added to the rise and importance of digital and online, as well as the evolving Arts sector as a whole, means I am highly adaptable and skilled at coming up with new ways of working, new ideas and dealing with new challenges. On a personal note, I love live entertainment and the excitement it brings - be it theatre, festivals or gigs. While I am outgoing and sociable, there's also nothing better than curling up on the sofa with a good book or joining in the social media conversations about the latest TV show of the month (when my 2 young children allow this!)
