Victor Covasan

Guidance, navigation and control engineer specializing in rockets. Aspiring CFA and poet. Passionate about snowboarding, visual arts and finance. Victor contributed to the development of three launch vehicles (RFA-One, Omnidea SoV, Orbex Prime), the ClearSpace-1, NASA Lucy and MSS missions. Technical expertise in analytical dynamics, robust control, inertial navigation, and orbital mechanics. Research interests: learning-based control and convolutional neural networks. Stock investing is a major part of my pursuit for financial independence. I like writing Python programs to analyze the fundamentals of companies, and I try to build a secondary income stream out of dividends. As a lifelong snowboarder, my goal is to transfer some of the technologies we develop for spacecraft to counteract the effects of global warming, and preserve our winters. I have been consuming literature and visual arts for most of my life. I hope that soon my writing will be mature enough to have a poetry collection published. Every once in a while I organize surfing and meditation retreats with friends from ISU, where we share our recent scientific findings, host creative workshops, and strive to push our bodies to new limits.
