Victor Mendoza

A Metallurgical and Mechanical Engineer with a rare blend of R&D, industry, academy and managerial experiences over 25 years. Major focus is in the area of Metal Forming Processes with strong emphasis on metallurgical phenomena. Extensive experience and expertise in high temperature alloys, titanium and steels. Hold a multicultural and global vision thanks to time spent living, studying and working in three different countries: Mexico, Japan and USA. Educated at IPN, the best technical university of Mexico and at The University of Tokyo, which is consistently ranked in the top ten engineering schools around the globe. Worked in various capacities in Mexican Petroleum Institute, Grupo Industrial NKS (Mexico), ITESM (Mexico), PCC-Wyman Gordon (USA) and Carpenter Technology Corporation ( USA). Experience on diverse metalworking processes from simple axi-symmetric cold drawing to complex ingot conversion and closed die forging with a variety of metallic materials, which was gained over the years working as floor supervisor all the way up to developing and using state of the art computer based analysis (Finite Element Modeling) Actively involved in Lean Initiatives, Root cause analysis and Six sigma methodologies for problem solving and effecting cost savings and waste elimination. Managed and capable of managing a group of engineering professionals in the area of testing materials, processes R&D, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering and product support. Recipient of scholarships awarded to top students since high school (IPN) to graduate school (MONBUSHO – Japanese Government). Scholar of the Mexican Petroleum Institute for three years while pursuing a bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
