Victoria Bentley

In 2021, I set up something I have wanted to do for a long time - my own writing and audio agency alongside the super talented, Jenny Hayes. Bentley & Hayes is a people-focused content agency, telling built environment and design stories with depth and feeling. Previous to this, I was a senior copywriter at Buro Happold, as well as a journalist for 12 years, working in magazines and online. As well as writing news and features, I managed the Time Out Kids social media accounts, produced Time Out Guides content, wrote a weekly DPS on kids' stuff for Time Out Dubai weekly, conducted interviews and edited and proofed copy. I'm also a qualified CELTA teacher! I completed a Cambridge University CELTA course at International House in September 2014. I designed and taught a series of courses entitled 'English for Nannies and Au Pairs', as well as running specialist business English classes at Foster+Partners. What else? I became editor of Caravan magazine in June 2007, rising to become senior editor of the title and its sister brand, Motor Caravan. I was the youngest editor at IPC Media at that time, and also the first female editor of Caravan in its 75-year history. Shortlisted for both Editor and Magazine of the Year at the IPC Media awards in 2010, my success was attributed to 'her unwavering optimism in times of adversity....her positive attitude and approachability really motivated the team to deliver'. I also worked as a sub and writer for China Daily in Beijing, on the news desk at Caterer and Hotelkeeper as well as a role as Acting Chief Sub-Editor at Wedding and Wedding Flowers magazines. I was Acting Deputy Editor at Practical Motorhome before I left London for Dubai with my family in January 2013.
