Victoria Sweet (Anishinaabe) is the Assistant Director of Tribal Law and Justice Consulting with The Whitener Group. Sweet received her JD from Michigan State University College of Law with a certificate in indigenous law and policy and is licensed in Minnesota. She attended the Pre-Law Summer Institute at the American Indian Law Center and earned her MA and BA from George Wythe University. Prior to joining The Whitener Group she worked as a senior program attorney at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. Sweet has presented at national and international conferences on topics such as human trafficking, violence against Native women, ICWA compliance, protection orders, and intergenerational trauma and provides technical assistance and training to both state and tribal court judges, attorneys, advocates, and court staff. Her publications include articles on the human trafficking and exploitation of Native women and girls and she was the primary author of the NCJFCJ revised ICWA Judicial Bench Book.
