Vikram Nathan

I am currently a third-year Prestige Scholar at McGill University pursuing a joint Honours B. Sc. In Computer Science and Biology. I hope to pursue an industrial or academic career as a computational geneticist or data scientist, with the ultimate goal of using AI and ML to uncover the genetic risk factors underlying complex diseases. I'm grateful to have gained diverse genetics research experiences that have exposed me to the wide variety of tools for transforming DNA sequencing reads into actionable biomedical insights. My research experiences have exposed me to genetic techniques used to study large populations, animal forensics, and the functional genomics of suicide. In my free time, I'm actively involved in the McGill community. My roles include being a vocal arranger, singer, and executive member of Chromatones A Cappella, being the social media and mass email content creater for the McGill Biology Student Union, and being a computer science tutor for lower-year undergraduate students at McGill's Computer Science Helpdesk.
