Currently working as Assistant Director, EIA-Kochi laboratory. Laboratory and team management for genomics and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) laboratory. Experience in laboratory establishment for NGS and Basmati DNA testing. Rich experience in NGS experiment planning and Instrument handling (Illumina HiSeq 2500, MiSeq, ION TORRENT, Roche454 GS FLX, SoLiD 4) for various NGS applications viz. whole genome sequencing and re-sequencing (WGRS), Genotyping by sequencing (GBS), RNA Sequencing, amplicon, Metagenomics and marker discovery. Expertise in basmati DNA and pigeonpea hybrid purity testing using microsatellite markers. Work on molecular markers (SNP, SSR, AFLP) for low or high throughput genotyping (ABI 3730xl and 3130xl ) in poultry, rice, wheat, pigeonpea, fenugreek for various studies. Hands on experience in DNA and RNA isolation from animal, plant, bacterial, fungal, bird, and human tissue or body fluid samples. Experience of work with some computation software's such as Popgene, powerMarker, NTsys, Darwin, etc.
