Vincent M. Tavakoli

My principal research interest lies in the field of signal processing for medical and industrial applications. My emphasis is on spectrum estimation either in direction of arrival problem and array signal processing, for electromagnetic antennas and mechanical (ultrasound/acoustic) transceivers, or in experimental modal analysis of mechanical vibrations. Throughout years, I've extended my knowledge on mathematical tools, such as numerical solution of partial differential equations, and obtained particular expertise in computer simulation (mostly in MATLAB) for adaptive systems and optimization problems. I also have intermediate skills in applied digital image processing, programming (C/C++) and hardware design (embedded systems). Recently, I've found an interest in Pedagogy which is reflected in my carrier path as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses also through my study and project in Pedagogy course.
