-Practical experience designing and managing climate change programs in the US and in developing countries for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). -Scientific background and technical skills using remote sensing and GIS to monitor land cover and land use change in Africa, including doctoral fieldwork in South Sudan. -Effective at bridging the gap between science and policy related to global environmental issues at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) with a focus on biodiversity conservation, including the illegal trade of wildlife. -Skilled at writing, reviewing and publishing papers and reports on a variety of international environmental and development related issues including climate change, biodiversity conservation, conflict, urban heat islands, international waters and forestry.
