Vivian Welker

I am a project manager at the Department for International Cooperation at Folkuniversitetet. I work mainly with projects regarding Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the European Union, as well as projects within the hospitality sector and adult education. I have had the pleasure to participate as guest speaker at several conferences on vocational education and training in a European context. I am also a member of the G100 network, as Sweden's Country Chair for Education. My career in the education sector started when I first got introduced to vocational education and training in Sweden. Before becoming a project manager for international projects, I was in charge of several VET programs and made sure that both students and stakeholders needs were met. My current role allows me to profit from my previous experience and to further influence the development of VET in Sweden and across Europe. Several of my current projects aim to ensure a better match between vocational education and the current and future demand of the labor market. This goes hand in hand with the goal of better quality assurance of the skills taught. I hope to contribute to a better and stronger VET system in the future and one that is equal across Europe.
