Due to my grandfather's death related to his heart failure, my passion for the cardiac patient ignited. As a bedside nurse, my passion expanded to the cardiac surgery population. I am certified in progressive care and have been since 2012. Throughout my graduate education, I became more well-rounded with other patient populations, making me more prepared to work in a variety of settings. I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Master of Science in Nursing degree with specialization as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2018 and became board certified in February 2019. As a board certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, I have been practicing in the realm of Infectious Disease since September 1, 2019, specializing in HIV treatment. As of March 2021, with a career change, I expanded my practice into all infectious disease management; however, HIV care remains one of my biggest passions.
