Waheed - Uz - Zaman

Waheed has over 26 years of experience in Policy, research and development projects in the fields of, water, environment and institutional development. 17 of these were in the capacity of senior positions with international organizations- -IWMI, the WB and UNOPS. For the last 9 years, he has been involved in providing design and implementation support to large infrastructural projects in these fields. He feels that he has the qualifications necessary to effectively handle the responsibility of any challenging position within this program. In the recent past, he was employed by the MWH as Deputy Chief of Party in their Environmental Assessment study project of Kurram Tangi Dam Project. With MWHhe was responsible for; producing a scoping document and an environmental assessment document for the social issues/resettlement aspects, organizing, coordinating and directing the work of the international experts as well as the Pakistani technical experts. Overall editing and finalizing the technical inputs draft and final scoping statement and environmental assessment reports., coordinating with the project team for the EA Technical issues as required. Before Joining MWH he was with MM Pakistan in their regional office Lahore as Lead Institutional and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist with a key role to provide design and implementation support to M&E, Social, Institutional Development and Capacity Building projects, and coordination with International Finance organizations and social sector of the country, planning and management of technical and financial proposals, management of collaborative work with UK divisions of the Firm for overseas projects. Earlier, he was with the World Bank as Senior Water Resources and Irrigation Specialist under their FAO-World Bank Technical Cooperative Program at their Islamabad office... During my service with the World Bank carried out over 14 Identification, preparation/formulation, Implementation Review/ supervisions and Implementation Completion Report (ICR) Missions for major rehabilitation and improvement projects in the fields of Water, Environment, and institutional development and capacity building in Pakistan. He also acted as the focal point for AbuDabi Dialogue Group for water and headed Pakistan Group in its Joint learning course on international waters attended by seven countries of the region in the WB Washington DC.
