Wail Madi

I am an Algonquin College alumnus as I graduated from the 2-year Accounting program as well as the 3-year Business Administration program. I am also a recent graduate from the 4-year Honours Bachelor of Commerce program (option in accounting) at University of Ottawa. The most challenging part of my academic journey was taking six courses for two consecutive semesters. I had set a goal in early 2021 to graduate by the end of the year. That was only going to happen if I took five courses in the winter semester, six courses in the summer, and another six in the fall. What I found to be challenging was juggling between taking six courses in school, working 25 hours per week, improving my physical/mental health and wellness, as well as having a social life. The hard work certainly paid off as I reached my goal and graduated in December 2021. The most important lesson learned from this experience was to prioritize and execute my tasks in a timely and efficient manner. I consider myself to be a highly disciplined individual who initiates action and takes ownership of his work. Some of my strengths and skills include communication, multi-tasking, leading, learning quickly, and time management. Some of my weaknesses and shortcomings include hesitation in taking big risks, extreme self-criticism, and knowing when to give up on a problem that I'm struggling to solve.
