About
I have been in the Forestry and Fisheries sciences as well as wetlands and water quality. Most recently I have been a state regulator of the Hydraulic Code issuing permits for in-stream projects as well as working to adequately protect and restore waters of the state of Washington for fish health, habitat, and water quality. I have a global focus on fisheries impacts from ghost (lost/abandoned) fishing nets in partnership with Ecologists Without Borders and the Global Ghost Gear Initiative... My work is focused on freshwater lakes in Central Africa. Formerly I had been involved in the food processing industry and have been HACCP certified by USDC/USDA and was quality assurance supervisor for US Grade A food products from the seafood industry. My goals are to become involved in outreach and education in the next phase of my career yet struggle to find something that has adequate compensation. I have great skills with public speaking and interface and am a great one-on-one educator or working with small to medium sized groups.
