William Bainborough

William is a London based physical access & electronic security specialist with over 15 years in the industry. Specialising in intruder detection, access control, CCTV and future trends. William is a co-founder & CEO of Doordeck, which is innovating traditional access control. Prior to William’s involvement with Doordeck, he set up Group Secure in 2011 designing bespoke security solutions for a variety of clients including Transport for London, English Heritage and the NHS. This was followed in 2012 with the launch of theinstallershop.co.uk, a nationwide security hardware stockist. In 2014 he founded Telesen, a business-focused telecoms solutions firm, creating a suite of complementary companies operating separately but with clear synergy.An avid motorcyclist, in 2014 his hobby took on another dimension, when his favourite biking café, Loomies, faced closure. William, decided to acquire the business and reinvigorated it through a mixture of enthusiasm, refurbishment and refined strategy. Though quite a departure from his other business interests, William has committed to turning the business around and the café is now regarded as a key destination and social hub for the biking community.Williams latest venture, Doordeck, was recently selected from 425 international startups as one of the 10 companies comprising the 2016 Cohort of Startupbootcamp’s IoT | Connected Devices accelerator.William is active as an industry expert, advising multinationals and high net-worth individuals on how better to tackle their access & security needs. He maintains an in-depth industry knowledge including manufacturer offerings and solution capabilities as well as understanding the usability of prospective solutions.
