William Charles Trevarthen

Originally from a background in the Navy and the Mining Services industry, I have extensive knowledge and experience in the Oil & Gas industry. This was gained while employed as a Senior Foreman at BP’s Bulwer Island Refinery since 1998. My role is to manage risk and to ensure the safe and efficient operating of the refinery’s process plant; by leading a team of both outside operators and DCS controllers. In addition I have been seconded to numerous temporary assignments; • Operations lead from define to operate stages on multiple new projects, • Process unit turnaround (TAR) roles, • reactive engineer, planned engineer, • Commissioning, Shutdown & Start-up roles. I am passionate about training, mentoring and sharing of ideas, having designed and delivered multiple training courses. I have excellent knowledge of wharf loading / unloading activities of LPG, crude oil and refinery finished products as well as relevant maritime safety procedures.
