William Ness

I am a life underwriting professional of exceptional experience and expertise, having occupied senior risk selection positions at many Canadian companies for more than 40 years. My approach to underwriting is a methodical, strongly analytical one. I pursue prompt, creative and cost-effective solutions to the largest and most complex insurance protection needs. Much of my career has been focused on the education of both underwriters and advisors. I have trained, coached and mentored a good number of today’s successful underwriters. Over the years, I have also taken part in numerous educational workshops for advisors to help them partner more effectively with their underwriters. I passionately believe advisors and underwriters are both part of the same team, with the common objective of providing an exceptional customer service experience to our mutual clients. In both my personal underwriting and my coaching of underwriters, I always have promoted honest, candid and constructive communication as the key to our success.
