In Taipei Medical University, which boasts the most prestigious undergraduate pharmacy program in Taiwan, I finished in the top 20% of my class of 200 students. After graduating with a pharmacy degree in June of 2015, I shortly thereafter secured a coveted position as a pharmacist in Mackay Memorial Hospital. Having grown up in a family where one of my parents was a doctor and the other a pharmacist, they had a profound impact on cultivating my compassion for persons in society. My greatest rewards do not come from financial gains, prestige of my job or the privileges that I might receive in my role as a pharmacist, but rather I am driven to study more and work harder so that I can acquire greater knowledge in my quest to aid my patients who graciously thank me for easing their suffering or saving their lives. Though I am confident in my abilities and my potential for greater achievements, I realize that an advanced education and career is my next logical step to push the boundaries of my current horizon. Now, I am in pharmacy school at University of Illinois at Chicago, learning more clinical knowledge and working in clean room in Northwestern Memorial Hospital as pharmacy technician. I believe my experiences has given me a solid background to cope with any pharmacy related issue, and ability to grasp any new concept in a minute.
