Wylie Hampson

Wylie Hampson recently got his Masters of Environmental Data Science degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at UC Santa Barbara, and he was part of the inaugural class for that program. Over the last year he has learned new ways of looking at the world and how data can have such a huge effect on it. Wylie thinks that data science can have giant impacts on helping us overcome some of the ominous environmental problems that we are all facing, and by becoming an environmental data scientist, he hopes to make significant contributions to solving those problems. He is currently a data fellow at Virga Labs, a company focused on using data to help better understand the complex systems surrounding the Colorado River so that policy makers and water managers can make the right decisions to help serve both the people and the environment. Wylie is constantly building on his data science skill set and he is looking forward to growing as a data scientist as his career unfolds.
