Xavier Raju

Xavier Raju is a Graduate student majoring in Financial Mathematics at the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He is currently part of a select group of MBA, Masters and Undergrad Finance students managing his college's $5 Million endowment fund under the leadership of the Director and Executives-In-Residence at the Babson College Fund (BCF). He specifically works with the Financials & REITs sector - analyzing and valuing companies in the sector, drafting equity research reports, pitching stocks and managing the overall Financials & REITs portfolio with the objective of outperforming the XLF and XLRE benchmarks (SPDR Financials Sector and Real Estate Funds) within the S&P 500, viz. The benchmark for the overall BCF portfolio. His focus revolves around quantitative aspects of Investment Banking and Investment Management. His strong Accounting background keeps him closely tied to developments in Corporate Finance especially in the building and understanding of Financial Statements and the Valuation of companies/ business. He is a FinTech enthusiast that is very excited about Decentralized Finance and stays abreast with developments around blockchain implementations and the crypto eco-system. He was previously an Advanced Tax Analyst at Ernst & Young LLP with their US Tax practice where he prepared and reviewed US Tax Returns for the CXOs and Executive Management of EY's Fortune 500 clients in the Financial Services Division which included some of the largest investment banks in the world. He was selected as one of the top 6 interns from India to represent the country at International Intern Leadership Conference in 2017 at Orlando, FL. Xavier also worked intermittently as part of the founding team at a startup called Immigreat where he held the portfolios of CFO and COO and managed accounting, finances and overall business operations. He worked with the development of their valuations, business contracts, business proposals and partnerships amongst a host of other business deliverables. He was a member of the prestigious Loyola Society of Debaters during his Undergrad at Loyola College, Chennai. He was also the president of the student council/ school captain of the batch of 2015 at St. Patrick's Anglo Indian Hr. Sec. School.
