I am a management accountant (CIMA), PhD researcher in digital technology, teaching affiliate (University of Nottingham) and a senior manager with 8 years experience in international education and operations. I bring a unique and applied perspective between the intersections of business, digital technology and global operations. Using cutting-edge data analytics techniques in machine learning and social network analysis, my recent work was with the world's largest food-sharing platform, Olio on predicting success attributes of the peer-to-peer network. I was also engaged in an Internet-Of-Things (IoT) sprint consultancy with Unilever Research in the UK. Other research work includes an Augmented Reality (AR) app development, which redesigned artworks from Tate (UK) and Shanghai Museum (China) on the ‘Shaping the Connected Museum II’ research project, funded by the AHRC. My long-term PhD research is on rural and remote microenterprises and their digital engagement for sustainable development in developing countries. Using mixed methods of ethnography, participatory design and big data analytics, my research aims to understand the digital needs and implications of digital marketplace design for microenterprises in rural Sarawak, Malaysia through both qualitative and quantitative inquiry. Before pursuing my PhD, I worked for 8 years in the Higher Education Institution (HEI) industry, where I last served as the Head of Operations & Partnerships at Birmingham City University (UK). In this role, I oversaw the international operations and projects of the university, liaising and communicating across different levels and backgrounds of stakeholders in driving long-term partnerships for the institution. One of the highlights of this role was leading on the successful bidding of half a million-government funding for international development and mobility.
