Yang Zhang

As an architect, Yang has a strong interest in the transformation brought by changes. Along the process of design, she is always eager to engage innovative applications in the design and working process. Meanwhile, she also has a strong intuition of beauty and would always find a balance between the both. ​ Yang works as a project architect in KAAN Architecten. She has been working on different types and scales of projects across the world. Meanwhile, she is actively involved in the complex background the architecture growing from and works across disciplines in management, PR and BD. From 2018 - 2019, she has been the architecture design manager for the KL AIR (consortium) architecture team in Schiphol Enabling Projects. Since 2017, she has been teaching in Complex Projects, Architecture Department of TU Delft, leading research and design studios and lectures in other universities. She led the research and design studio <IN City: Shanghai> and <Dutch Change>. Together with Kees Kaan, she curates <Non-super Dutch> edition in WA magazine. She has also been teaching in courses such as City of Innovation, AREA sustainable framework, etc. Since 2020, she co-founded the Spring Onion Atelier, to explore the knowledge and method toward a more sustainable future.
