Yasmine Hafez

Close to forty years of experience in Accounting, Financial Advisory, Institutional Development, and Auditing; in the United States, and in Egypt. Experienced in the design, structuring and performance monitoring of corporate entities and financial intermediaries. Conducted reviews and audits; business plans; designed and instituted administrative and financial policies, procedures and systems; provided training and ongoing technical support; and undertook periodical financial reporting and analysis. Currently hold the position of Internal Audit Director at the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt,since July 2009 until present. Worked at Environmental Quality International (EQI) for 18 years. Held the positions of Vice President for Enterprise Development and Microfinance (2002 – 2009);the position of Vice President for Financial Management (1997 -2002); and the position of Management and Financial Advisory Services Director, 1991-2002. Was involved in the USAID-funded Small and Micro Enterprise (SME) Development project since 1991, and the USAID-funded Small and Emerging Businesses (SEB) project through 2005; Participated in the Egypt Microenterprise Finance (EMF) project, January 2006 through June 2009, as Microfinance Institution Advisor for Financial and Risk Management and EQI Corporate Representative. Held the positions of Deputy Chief of Party, 2000-2005, Finance Specialist and Finance Task Area Manager for a number of years, and Project Manager for a period of two years.Lead the project’s team responsible for setting up required operational procedures in a leading commercial bank in Egypt to implement the Microfinance program. Participated in the design and establishment of Egypt’s Social Fund for Development. Audit experience was complimented through working on public accounting and limited review engagements with Price Waterhouse;
