Quick my life/Work Summary: I spent the first 16 3/4 years of my life in Eritrea, a small nation in the horn of Africa. I graduated with a degree in Politics from Whitman College. During my years as a student at Whitman College, I held a few student jobs. After graduation, I signed up to do a year of service with City Year New York as a tutor and mentor to students in our most in need schools. Although I only wanted to do a year, I ended up serving for another year with City Year New York as a Team Leader. Following that year, I became a kindergarten teacher for one year and 5th grade teacher for another year while getting my masters in education. After that, I held a Program Manager role with City Year for a few years. Currently, I am the Unconditional Education Coach with Seneca Family of Agencies at Rainier Valley Leadership Academy. My Qualities: If I choose to hold a job or take on a responsibility, I am very dedicated and committed to the organization and its values. I am a team player and willing to go above and beyond for a greater good. I am intentional and solution-oriented.
