Selam (hi), I'm Yordanos! A few of my favorite things: warm weather, chocolate, good music (currently on repeat: Louis Armstrong and John Coltrane), Manchester United FC, existential philosophy, poetry, reading (books galore!) :) Professionally, my path to recruiting, albeit unplanned, was serendipitous. As a first-generation Ethiopian-American, attending college and building a life in the US has taught me considerably -- Recruiting allows me to combine these learnings, my global perspective, and empathy-centered approach to help minimize the barriers to success for others. I started in community organizing, curriculum and course designing, and program management; I now find myself partnering with other dreamers and leaders to bring dreams to reality, build and accelerate inclusive teams/cultures/companies, and unlock unrealized potential through meaningful connections and strategic execution. How I can help you and/or your company: ~ Strategic Advising: Building the right and scalable talent strategy, employer brand, and execution plan is both an art and science. I can assess your existing strategy, infrastructure, and performance and develop a plan of execution that fits your business goals. This includes regular touch-points to keep things on track, help with any necessary pivots, and offer continued coaching to you and your team. ~ Recruiting Leadership: I enjoy directly partnering with founders and C-Suite leadership to grow their teams. Paired with my passion for quality candidate experience, fostering an inclusive culture, and building scalable processes and high-performing recruiting organizations, I bring thoughtful and effective leadership to accelerate your company's growth in a highly competitive talent marketplace. I have proven success in scaling companies (through fast-growth stage, M&A, pre-IPO, etc), people management (global, distributed teams across both commercial and technical recruiting, operations, onboarding, talent branding, and analytics), and full life-cycle recruiting (including executive talent). ~ Community Partnership: I enjoy learning from others and also contributing to thought/industry leadership via speaking engagements (events, podcasts, etc), writing, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing collaborations. The #BuildingInPublic tenet is one I find personally resonant and I hope to contribute to it more.
