I am building a climate-tech start-up that makes it easy for homeowners to decarbonize their homes. E-Den digitalizes residential HVAC replacement industry and deploys energy-efficient all-in-one heating and cooling systems called heat pumps. Each new heat pump reduces a home’s CO2 footprint by the equivalent of a gas-powered car. Before founding E-Den, I served as an investment professional at Integral Corporation, one of Japan’s leading private equity firms based in Tokyo. At Integral, I led leveraged buyouts and M&A transactions and also worked closely with the management teams of the portfolio companies on key strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and successfully navigated financial and operational uncertainties under the COVID-19 pandemic. While at Integral, I also served as a board member (Kansa-yaku) at Sanden Retail Systems Corporation, a global commercial refrigerator and vending machine manufacturer. Prior to joining Integral, I started my career as a policy planning officer at the Financial Services Agency (FSA), the Japanese government’s financial regulatory agency. At the FSA, I worked on various inter-ministry policy coordination efforts including drafting the Cabinet’s financial regulatory initiatives, Abenomics policies, and hosted several policy advisory panels.
