Zachariah Bendas

I'm an experienced IT professional, with years spent in higher education environments working with and supporting faculty, staff, and students. I've climbed the ranks from providing frontline help desk-level support to working among talented system administration staff to monitor and maintain a fleet of thousands of devices. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to train other support staff and improve our initial training procedures, and have benefited from an encouraging environment that has allowed me to take on impactful projects of my own initiative. One such project was an internal web application, written in React, that would allow my colleagues to better navigate and maintain information on each of the networked printers supported by our department. This particular endeavor was my first opportunity to make use of my growing software development skills, and has been a resounding success. We now maintain all of our printers' records through this application, foregoing the error-prone spreadsheet previously in-use. I hope to continue to grow my skills and eventually make the transition to software development or software engineering. I have always enjoyed the unique problem-solving requirements that programming and development involves, and I am looking for more chances to dig in and put my skills to work.
