Zainah Abusido

A cultural programming and communications professional with over eight years of experience in marketing and communications at both the agency and client sides. I am currently working at the intersection of communications and culture, an industry I am immensely passionate about exploring. I am a Senior Specialist, International Outreach and Partnerships at the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. In my current role, I am co-managing the Award's international partnerships portfolio and the curation/execution of the Award's cultural program of events. Additionally, I oversee the regional MarComms strategy implementation for the Award and its initiative, the Translation Grant. Earlier in my career, I worked for the global communications firm Edelman as part of their healthcare practice. I supported and assisted several clients within the healthcare sector in the UAE, including Mubadala Health care, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Center, among others. I hold a BA in Mass Communication, Public Relations from the American University of Sharjah with a minor in Translation (2013). I also hold a master's degree with first class honors from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in the program of MMCM (Marketing, Management, Communication, and Media) delivered by CELSA, the Graduate School of Communication and Journalism of Sorbonne Université (2023).
