Construction phase cost management including assessing contractor monthly progress claims and financial reporting; Cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning; Negotiating with builders; Insurance claims; Preparing estimates of construction costs during documentation phase; Measurement of building quantities for bill preparation and final accounts; Drafting Bills of Quantities; Site visits and site measurement; Presenting the firm at meetings; Carrying out overall cost control of projects; Preparing valuations for issue of interim payment certificates; Preparing and concluding final accounts; Complying with basic office rules and procedures; Complying with the requirements of the ‘Continuing Professional Development System’ as administered by the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors; Developing computer literacy and skills; Working in conjunction with other staff; Ensuring compliance with the firm’s quality management systems, including establishing a full knowledge of the quality and practice manuals.
