Zawadi Mageni Mboma

I am fascinated by human-environment interactions in terms of disease occurrence through the exploration of spatial-temporal patterns of disease, priority setting and strategic planning to eradicate diseases. While Malaria is my core interest, I have always approached it as part of a general ecosystem requiring expanded improvements in the greater health systems and development agenda. I am interested in operational research and impact evaluation of interventions; effective leadership and management of health development programs. Particularly, I am interested in the engagement of women, their representation and sustainability in leadership positions. I believe gender diversity is crucial to ensure inclusivity to achieve equity in global health. I hold a MPhil/PhD degree in Infectious and Tropical Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (U.K), a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geography and Earth Science and a Certificate in Leadership from Carthage College (U.S.A).
