Zeeshan Alvi

I am a Mass Media professional, been associated with public relations, advertising, electronic media and humanitarian & development sectors. The technical areas I have touched upon include media crisis risk management, media policy & strategy development, disaster/emergency communications, communications for development, behavioural change communication, advocacy, public engagement, social media, publicity and event management. I have served for United Nations, World Vision International, HelpAge International UK, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV News), McCann -Orient Advertising, Sohni Dharti TV Channel (Pakistan's first and only TV network dedicated to agriculture) and Rural Development Foundation. The medals of success that I proudly bear on my chest have come through the services rendered for Polio Eradication Initiative, 4 critical humanitarian emergencies, including but not limited to Earthquake in 2005, Floods in 2010, 2011 and 2012 as well as the crisis of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) during military operations in north-western part of Pakistan. I am blessed with the wealth of my parents’ love, kind teachers, encouraging seniors & supervisors, helpful colleagues and the most committed and devoted friends. For whatever I have achieved in life, I am highly indebted to my world and my people. My vision is of a humanitarian worker who strives to build a peaceful & lovable society for all. I am determined to put all my time and energies, to translate this vision into a tangible reality.
