Zj Zhang

Mr. Zhang was appointed Qld Government Commissioner for the Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) China in December 2001 and promoted Senior Commissioner in 2015. He has been responsible for the strategic planning, realignment operation and management of 4 offices located in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu since then. Over the past decades, he has provided ongoing strategic advices regarding China’s business, political, cultural and government issues to the Qld Government, in particular to senior officials including the Premier of Qld. He has been responsible for many projects and programs promoting business relations between Queensland and China and achieved significant outcomes. Mr Zhang has also worked extensively with the Chinese Central and Provincial Government systems, as well as established an efficient senior business network with both Chinese SOEs and private executives in various sectors. He has gained extensive experience working with the State and Federal Government of Australia. He joined in the Qld Government in Dec 1990 and has close 28 years experience handling in the senior government relations, international business management, strategic planning and facilitation of major projects in trade and investment areas Mr Zhang has published various articles regarding economic and financial reform in China in 1980s. He holds BA and MA degrees majoring in international finance from the Renmin University of China in early 1980s and studied at the Griffith University in late 1980s.
