Throughout my entire life, for as long as I can remember, I have been continuously captivated by cinema and enthralled by the entertainment industry, and as I grew older, I made it my mission to seek out a profession that would allow me the opportunity to play a part in inviting audiences around the world into cinematic adventures on both the big and small screen. Films and television shows allow artists across the globe the freedom to share their own stories and express their most intimate emotions in a vibrant, visual manner, and they cultivate connections between even the most contrasting of individuals. I aspire to be the intermediary between the works of these virtuosos and viewers from countless countries and cultures, and as a result, I would love nothing more than to apply my abilities in communication and social outreach to any area related to the advancement of these artforms. During college, I was first exposed to the art of communication via courses centered around gender communication, small group communication and leadership, and business communication, and I additionally chose to pursue an emphasis in intercultural communication and diversity, which provided me with the capability to better understand how to appeal to and communicate with diverse audiences, a skill which I believe to be invaluable in today’s global marketplace, especially as a trans woman carving her own path in a cis-dominated industry. At this same time, I also served as the News Editor for my college newspaper, and right out of college, upon moving to Los Angeles, I took on a job editing for Screen Rant, allowing me to apply these editing skills to a position right in the entertainment industry I aspired to be a part of, learning how to adhere to house styles and edit under strict deadlines. Because of this, I would have no problem adapting to the standards put forth by any profession, as I became a fast learner throughout my time there, which also benefits me in my current position as an awards editor for the entertainment news site We Live Entertainment. With my aforementioned adoration of film and television, my experience in business communication (especially in the entertainment industry), and my ability to appeal to audiences of all backgrounds, my skillset is tailor-made for any job in these fields, and if you're reading this, I look forward to working with you soon.
