About

A professional marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement individual with specialist experience of working in the built environment, energy sector and on major road and rail infrastructure projects and lately local housing and mixed-use developments. I have operated in commercial and project/contract delivery teams throughout my career as a senior lead but also delivered at a tactical level working in both communication and marketing teams to include close working partnerships with agencies/specialists. Historically, the first half of my career experience is rooted in B2B marketing and communications, where I enjoyed various roles in facilities management and the engineering sector. During my time in Veolia/Dalkia and MITIE I gained international marketing experience and a solid understanding for customer management in a commercial set-up. Just over 10 years ago I consciously took the opportunity to work in project-based teams in a series of lead marcomms roles. In an arena where the purpose is not solely led by profit but value in the complex delivery of project principles. Since my transition I’ve found immense job satisfaction in my roles working predominately as principal communications lead for a mix of built environment change projects, rail and highway national infrastructure projects and recently in the local housing and development sector. Interestingly, since my first project in the transport sector back in 2015 I’ve had a unique opportunity to work across all planning regimes in England from the HS2 Hybrid Bill, National Infrastructure Planning to local Development Planning. At the heart of all my career roles is people engagement. Listening and learning to audiences continues to be an artform and one which continues to inspiration me in the way I use messaging for the Now voice, the Journey piece and the Possibilities of the future. The digital voice, artist communication work, internet of things and other creative mediums are a real interest of mine and I enjoy exploring these mediums more and more. Lately, new challenges in delivering information have suited me well and enabled me to think about and build on the abilities of digital portals, user experience tools and narrative storytelling vehicles. Now, I’ve come to a great arrangement combining my built environment, sustainable energy insights and infrastructure sector experience into my present role.
