Zola Sibanda

Zola Sibanda is currently working as a Data Scientist at Nestlé. Ms Sibanda previously worked as a Junior Data Scientist in the fleet maintenance management industry. Before that, Ms Sibanda was a Mathematics Lecturer at the Pearson Institute of Higher education. Ms Sibanda previously graduated with an undergraduate BSc. Degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria then completed an honours degree in Mathematical Statistics and has recently completed a Masters in Mathematical Statistics. In addition, Ms Sibanda previously was a part-time tutor at the Department of Statistics at the university. Ms Sibanda's qualifications have cultivated a firm foundation of theory and principles and thus helped improve her research, analytical and communication capabilities. Ms Sibanda is regarded as a team player having functioned as a resourceful team member in group assignments and university study, social or community programmes, therefore, Ms Sibanda is confident that she can build and maintain productive relationships with clients and colleagues in the future. For example, Ms Sibanda was recently a part of a team of three female students that won 3rd place in the University of Pretoria Consulting Society (UPCS) Case Competition which involved solving a case from start to finish and reporting and presenting our findings and recommendations. Having lived in a few countries, Ms. Sibanda was also awarded the opportunity to experience life abroad on exchange at Brooks School, MA, USA, thus she adapts well in any situation and gets along with those she meets of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ms. Sibanda demonstrated her leadership potential as President and Fundraising Coordinator of the Naledi Feeding Service to purchase weekly food parcels for disadvantaged families in Old Naledi, Gaborone, Botswana Ms. Sibanda's aspirations include qualifying as a CFA and effectively utilising statistical and mathematical techniques in the analysis and implementation of project solutions in a data driven environment.
