About
I am an experienced PhD candidate with demonstrated skills in Deep Learning, Image Processing, image registration systems and image segmentation. I have strong programming skills in Python, C++, Bash and Plastimatch. I am a strong research professional with great imagination and the ability to be self-driven when direct supervision is not available. My PhD is primarily focused on quantification of radiotherapy late effects in pediatric patients, and I have a wide experience of working in a variety of HPC Clusters. As a researcher, I believe that "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." In my doctoral research, I am endeavoring to quantify the late effects of radiotherapy on the musculoskeletal system in pediatric patients. The scope of this research encompasses the detection of quantifiable imaging biomarkers linked to growth defects in both planning Computed Tomography (CT) and follow-up Magnetic Resonance (MR) images of childhood cancer survivors. The methodology incorporates various image processing methodologies and employs deep learning-based auto-segmentation networks to segment these imaging biomarkers. Additionally, we extract pertinent measurements related to growth defects from these segmented biomarkers. Finally, multi-modality deformable image registration techniques, specifically CT-MR, are implemented to map the dose distribution from the planning CT onto the follow-up MR scans. The ultimate goal is to scrutinize the correlation between these extracted measurements from the imaging biomarkers and the mapped dose data, thereby providing a comprehensive understanding of radiation-induced late effects on the pediatric musculoskeletal system.
