I am currently Chief Academic Officer (Early Childhood Education) for GEMS. I joined the company in 2002 as a member of the GEMS Advisory Board. I was previously Head Teacher of a Beacon School for Twelve years and Chair of the Solihull Partnership of Schools. I completed my Masters in Educational Management particularly investigating how schools can work in partnership with parents and a doctorate in Education. I have also qualified with institute of Neuro-Physiological Psychology and spearheaded several projects including Nursery and Early Years Education, Cognitive and Physical Development, Accelerated Learning, Performance Management and Special Needs. I was part of the team that developed the performance indicators in primary schools value added baseline assessments (University of Durham CEM centre). I am an adjunct professor at Curtin University, Western Australia; visiting lecturer at the University of Winchester and member of the ISA Professional Development Committee. I have also qualified as an Ofsted, ISI Reporting Inspector and School Improvement Partner. In partnership with ISA I have developed a ground breaking pathway for teachers and senior leaders to obtain additional qualifications up to Masters level. As an accredited Cache provider I am currentlyworking to provide early childhood qualifications up to Foundation degree. This is part of the drive to raise the quality and status of Early Years Practitioners.
