A passion for connection and a love for all kinds of medical nerdery is what drives me as a nurse and an educator. Having come to nursing after working in the communications and emergency response industries, I quickly realized that learning from folks of all backgrounds, experiences and knowledge fueled my desire to learn and to mentor others. I strive to be a compassionate and accessible mentor both in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator in a busy, urban ED and teaching Heart & Stroke curriculum across Fraser Health. I have strong interests in cardiac medicine and resuscitation, simulation, harm reduction strategies, Trauma & Resiliency Informed Care, cultural humility and inclusive and diversity-competent care for LGBTQIA2S+ clients and patients and their families. I look forward to connecting with other health professionals so I can learn more about how to support patients and frontline workers in the challenging and rewarding context of the Emergency Department.
